About Programming Chicago – Website Designer.

Dreamweaver and WordPress development. How can I help you with your new website design?

Manufacturing

I had worked with different manufacturing companies, which at the time, was the backbone of our economy. I pulled orders then packed and shipped them, worked with customer service, used micrometers for quality control, etc. Whew, I did a lot, but once the shift to services took place in the 90’s, I knew I had to grow with it.

Medical

I was in the medical field for a little over four years. I started out in Medical Records, then went up on the floor to the Med/Surg unit. It was difficult to see patients come in over, and over and over. You really do get emotionally attached. It broke my heart. I was really good at what I did, but it does takes a toll on you.

Website Design

Turns out, this is what I love to do. As a  website designer, I have been developing website since 2000, wow, about twenty years now. A lot has changed in design since I created my first website. Sites back then were o.k., but nothing like you would see today. I had basic knowledge of html like a few others, and used a very basic program to help with coding. Then a really cool program came out – Dreamweaver! See Below.

MBA

Don’t let that scare you, in fact, it could help your business! I hold an M.B. A. from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. That was a lot of work, reading, testing, Power Point presentations, with very early morning and a lot of late nights to get it done. Cue music ~ “It Don’t Come Easy”! What does that feel like? Fantastic. In the long run, I have been able to give insights I have gained to my customers that need a little nudge in the right direction.

Dreamweaver in 1999 - Present

It was 1999 when I had my hands on my first copy of Dreamweaver 4.0 software program. I was ecstatic! Of course I had heard about it, but could not afford it. My boss had the cd’s to all the latest software out there, and he handed it to me and said learn this. Once I started exploring the different options…what a revelation it was. You could do so much more than simple tables and images. Since that time, I have used Dreamweaver for the better part of 14 years, until WordPress came along. Again, that was another AHA moment. WordPress 2003 - 2015

A lot of us just looked at WordPress like it was just another tool that we could use or not. No big deal. Then it started to gain some traction. By 2013, 60.4% of websites are run with WordPress. That is HUGE! Considering Dreamweaver had been the go to program for web designers. [cite w3techs.com]. Now there are several platforms out there. Joomla, Drupal, and others but WordPress has them scared!
